My man loves birds.  We’ll visit a zoo, and I have to remind my ADD self that we may be in the Aviary for a very.long.time.  I will say, the cool part is that this man can spot each and every bird in there.  He truly has an eye for nature and it’s a beautiful thing. So, about a month ago, my hubby hung up some bird feeders.  It’s been fun for the children to sit down during breakfast and watch the birds enjoy their meal, as well. I wish I could say I have enjoyed watching them, but I just haven’t even thought of it.   My mornings are like most moms~”hurry up an eat they’re coming for you” kind of mornings 😉  So, it’s been something more for my man & the littles to enjoy.  Well, yesterday, our youngest daughter had the idea to make her own bird feeder out of a pine cone.  She added a little peanut butter & rolled it in bird seed…and viola!  It seems that it’s become a favorite among our feathered friends.  Especially today, as we awoke to a snow covered ground and not just a couple birds here and there at the feeders, but flocks of them!  The little ones are mesmerized by them to the point of choosing bird watching over TV watching.  The older kids are fascinated by the various types of birds that have stopped by for a snack.  I have to say,  I have really enjoyed shooting them.  You get what I mean 😉 . Seriously, I have found my morning eager to see what stops by next and waiting behind my lens to capture it.  At first, I was annoyed at how foggy my sliding glass door was, but I loved the overlay effect it had on the images. The only regret we have is not putting the feeders out sooner.  Pure. entertainment.  So, if you ever happen to run into us at the zoo..in the Aviary…don’t look so shocked when you see me shooting birds 😉
